Web applications are simply web sites that use a connection to a database for the information that is displayed on the pages. Web Applications are based on the same HTML templates that are used on static web pages, but the information that is displaied in different areas of the site would be dynamically displayed from the information that is held in the database. A common example of this is a Shopping Cart, or a Calendar. Web applications are maintainable through an interface that a web browser is used to interact with to update the information stored in the database.
There are many languages that can accomplish this, our service utilizes ColdFusion to develop the application and mySQL for the database.
